National Fair Housing Month Proclamation

Did you know that Surprise citizens cannot be denied equal access to housing because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability or family status? The federal Civil Rights Act of 1968 ensures all Americans full and fair access to housing. Mayor Wolcott recently proclaimed the month of April as “National Fair Housing Month” to bring greater awareness of citizens’ rights.
