I know that many of you, including myself, place a high value on arts and culture. The significance that we place locally on the arts is apparent in Surprise City Hall, which features art exhibit space on the first floor. Now, thanks to the proprietors of the restaurant located inside City Hall, there will be new monthly jazz performances here.
The owners of City Café @ Surprise, which is open to the public, is partnering with a local music promoter to offer jazz performances each month. The jazz series started in February.
The next performance will take place from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, and will feature the jazz duo of Donna Wilde and Richard Palalay. I plan to be there from 4:30 – 6 p.m. So, if your schedule allows, please come by and say hi and enjoy great music, great food and great company.
For those of you who haven’t been to Surprise City Hall before, the address is 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza. City Hall is located just east of the tennis complex. You can conveniently park on the guest level (first floor) of the parking garage, and City Café @ Surprise is located at the front entrance of City Hall.
If I don’t see you next week, I hope to see you at Surprise Stadium during spring training this month!
