Mayor with Gov. Ducey at Cactus League Press Conference

Mayor joins Governor to announce economic impact of AZ Cactus League

Mayor Wolcott joined Governor Doug Ducey on stage at the State Capital September 10 as he announced the incredible impact that the Arizona Cactus League has on the Arizona economy.

A study revealed that the Phoenix-area Cactus League ballparks, including Surprise Stadium, generate an estimated $800 Million for Arizona annually.

“The economic impact is evident in Surprise during Spring Training season,” said Mayor Sharon Wolcott, “but we benefit from our facilities all year long, with tournaments, festivals and other events that generate revenue for our city, as well as the county and the state.”
